This scene makes me cry like a baby every time I watch it. It’s so beautiful that I can hardly stand it. After Sam and Dean’s heartache of seasons four and five, after all the betrayal and distrust and hurt, we get this scene. This scene, where in the face of Lucifer and Michael, in the face of the apocalypse, it’s the love between Sam and Dean that allows Sam to gain control over the devil himself. It’s that powerful, earth shattering, all encompassing, heartbreaking love that is so specific to the Winchesters, so characteristic of Sam and Dean’s relationship. Their love literally saves the world.
