Okay, got that out of the way. I just rewatched the episode and I was talking to my friend and she said something about how it sounded like Misha was trying to talk like Death when he was the other Castiel in the Empty. So what if that’s why he was attempting the cultured accent? Was he trying to sound like Julian? The entity in the Empty said he was older than anything (which is something Death said before), right? He’d been asleep there for awhile and was surprised and irritated about being awake. What if he is Death but at first he didn’t know what the heck was going on? Then when he read Castiel’s mind, he remembered everything that happened before and realized this was like “Oh shit. That’s right. I still need to fuck the Winchesters up for killing me.” Which would mean that’s not Castiel who came back- it’s Death and he’s pissed.
