That fan absolutely attempted to turn Jensen’s face to her. She might have intended to kiss him on the mouth, he may have sensed that, so he refused to turn his head. Unsurprisingly, he was also very focused on Jared. That fan issued a chaotically worded “non-apology” that blamed anxiety (WTF?!) for her actions, essentially meaning everyone could F off for criticizing her. What she did was ensure Jensen will *never* jump into a fancrowd ever again, and he’ll be shielded by a wall of bodyguards.

And there it is. That’s the truth. When people overstep like that, it does hurt the entire fandom because now he’s going to be a lot more cautious around us. I’m not trying to vilify her. I don’t know her or what she was thinking. I don’t think she was trying to hurt anyone. But besides being totally rude to Jensen, those actions do effect others. It’s like the fans that bring in inappropriate props and try to put actors into sexual positions during photo ops. They always dismiss criticism by saying “They could have said no!” but the actors are nice people and they’re trying to please the fans who pay so much for ops. Now people are pushing those boundaries farther and farther and eventually Creation is just going to put a stop to all of it. They’ll end up allowing no props and no unnecessary contact and doing ops like the ones at a lot of other fandom cons: you walk in, the celeb puts his arm around you, they snap the picture, and you leave. The ops are already more strictly controlled than they used to be. Please don’t ruin them for everyone.

(I’m going to respond to everyone in one response so I don’t spam you all with this.)

Anon 2: The way that girl even defended herself saying she’s “sorry not sorry” for what she did and that Kim and Briana would back her up on what she did with being waywardAF. How childish. She should’ve backed up when Jensen gave her that “Really?” stare.

Yeah, he looks so thrilled here:

Anon 3: If you wouldn’t kiss a stranger don’t kiss a celebrity. You are not their best friend or even a family member so have some respect for them and understand that it’s going to make them uncomfortable if you just up and press your lips to their cheek/neck without asking. Even so, if you do ask, I don’t recommend actually kissing them because it’s still a respect thing. .-. Some people are just unbelievable.

Yes. You don’t know them just because you see them on TV and at cons. I would add that if you ask and they say it’s fine, then okay. But personally I wouldn’t even ask because I feel like it’s crossing a line. That’s just me though.

That fan did not turn Jensen’s face, Jensen turned Jensen’s face. I am so tired of fans berating and policing each other for the theoretical protection of people who are not even present and really can, in almost every way humanly possible, take care of themselves and hold their own.

Jensen turned his head back to her after she kissed him. Shortly after that while he’s yelling for Jared, she puts her hand on his cheek like she’s trying to turn his face back towards her and says “No”. It’s in my last gif and it’s very obvious in the video.

The purpose of that gifset was to show how Jensen was focused in on Jared through that whole thing. I did not berate or police anyone. In my tags, I mentioned that I don’t think that behavior is okay and I stand by that opinion. If you go to a convention and kiss Jensen without consent in front of a couple of thousand people, others are going to have opinions about it. I understand her being overwhelmed when she was so close to him but thousands of fans get that close to him during photo ops and don’t kiss him without his permission.

Jensen is a human being and a very nice one at that. No one should take advantage of his kindness by pushing his boundaries. Same goes for Jared. If you consider me saying that they should be treated with respect “berating and policing” the fandom, that’s your problem.

Just seeing how Dean reacts to near-death or actual death scenes between Cas and Sam should show how Destiel isn’t a thing. Whenever Sam dies, he couldn’t move on no matter what he does. He’ll sacrifice just about anything to get Sam back (himself and the world included). But when it’s Cas, he grieves for a bit like with any other friend of theirs and he moves on. He never once bargained for Cas’ life. Sorry new anon here. I just can’t with the irrationality.

You’re absolutely right. When Cas died before, Dean was sad. He grieved and even thought he saw him a couple times after leaving him in purgatory. That’s a common reaction when someone close to you dies- you think you see them. It was a lot like his reaction when Bobby died. Sam and Dean initially didn’t believe Bobby was a ghost because they figured their grief was making them see things that weren’t there. Dean saved Castiel’s trench coat when Cas died and he saved Bobby’s flask when Bobby died.

But you know what Dean didn’t do when they died? He didn’t sell his soul. He didn’t let some shady doctor kill him or kill himself to try and bargain with a reaper. He didn’t try every spell and every ritual he could think of to bring them back. (In Exile on Main Street, Dean mentions that in spite of his promise to not bring Sam back, he tried everything to save him from the Cage.)

So yes, there are other people Dean cares about deeply and thinks of as family, but they aren’t on the same level as Sam because he literally can’t go on without him.
