If you’re going to call an episode There’s Something About Mary, you damn well better make sure that at some point Sam answers the door with Dean’s “hair gel” stuck to him.
This just in: Dean has frequent and sometimes extremely long phone conversations with Sam (17 minutes, really?) even though they live in the same bunker.
Mary does not know how to filter spam, but subscribes to Biggerson’s newsletter. Dean keeps her updated on the goings-on of their lives and also I wonder if Mary told Sam the name of that guy/?
Also, four out of the six conversations in Dean’s recent call log are with Sam, even though they’re rarely apart or for long.

DEAN INSTANTLY REGRETTED STOPPING MAX FROM MAKING THAT DEAL AND TAKING THE MAGIC. Sam was trying to tell him he did the right thing but Dean wasn’t having it because he knows. HE KNOWS. He’s been right there where Max was standing looking down at the person he loves most and knowing they’re gone. If he finds out what Max did, he’ll be the one person in the world who completely understands why he did it. Not that he’d approve, but he’d totally get it.
The parallels in this episode were outstanding. At first, Max seemed more like the obvious Sam parallel to me. Remember when Dean showed up all worried about John and Sam was just like “Oh he’s off on a bender. He’ll show up.” Max was very Sam. Plus even though Sam made the comment to Alicia about both Dean and John being in the life like Max and his mom, Dean said that it was actually Sam that was more like John.
But when Alicia died? That was so clearly a direct parallel to Sam’s death and Max reacted EXACTLY like Dean did. Make a deal, bring them back, who needs a soul anyway?
This show does love beautiful codependent siblings.
